Case study
The story
Prime Medical Supplies distributes clinically-proven vascular and cardiology devices (Edwards, Cordis, Terumo) to hospitals across Egypt. It is my father’s company, so I will say that before you have to ask — and then let the work speak for itself. I set the company up online end to end: business mail, domain records, hosting, backend and frontend, not just the pages a visitor sees. I still run all of it today.
The problem
A young distributor competing on trust needed to look as reliable as the multinationals it represents — and needed the plumbing behind that to be real. Quote requests that land in spam, or a domain any stranger can send mail as, undo a credible site faster than a bad layout does.
The build
The full stack, front to back. Business mail on Zoho with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC configured so the domain is authenticated and quote traffic reaches an inbox instead of a spam folder; DNS and hosting; a token-based design system; and a catalog that answers a procurement officer’s first questions — what do you carry, is it genuine, how do I get a quote. A strict honesty rule throughout: no fabricated numbers, no fake reviews.
What it changed
- Authenticated business mail — SPF, DKIM, and DMARC — so quote requests reach an inbox and nobody else can send as the domain.
- A credible digital storefront for hospital procurement teams, replacing word-of-mouth PDFs.
- Searchable, filterable device catalog with a quote-request flow (no fake prices — honest “quote on request”).
- Design system built on CSS custom properties so the client can extend pages without breaking the brand.
My part
- Set up business mail on Zoho and authenticated the domain with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records.
- Configured DNS and hosting, so the domain, mail and site are one coherent setup rather than three loose parts.
- Built the backend and the data-driven content layer behind the catalog and quote flow.
- Migrated a single-file design prototype into a structured Next.js App Router application.
- Built the token-driven design system (colors, type, spacing as CSS custom properties).
- Enforced the honesty constraint in copy and components — qualitative claims only.
What it does
- Searchable, filterable device catalog with order badges
- Global request-a-quote modal wired to every product
- Client marquee of 16 real hospital institutions
- Status ticker with branch, hours, and delivery promises
- Scroll reveals and count-up motion, reduced-motion safe
Hard parts
- Designing credibility without statistics — the site persuades with specifics, not numbers.
- Keeping the original prototype’s hand-crafted feel while making it maintainable as data.
